Young Woman in Public Affairs Award
The Young Woman In Public Affairs Award is given annually by our local Zonta Club. The local award is $300. This is an award not a scholarship so there are no stipulations on the use of the money. Local winners are sent on to our District level ($1000); the District winner is then sent to the Zonta International level and is eligible for an additional $4000.
The Zonta International YWPA Award program is designed to encourage women to pursue decision-making positions in their communities in order to impact the policies that affect the lives of women in the community and throughout the world. The YWPA program looks to the young women of today who will be the leaders of tomorrow. The application may be downloaded from the Zonta.org site (link below) or request by email to president@nullzontaroyalgorge.org and request an digital application for ease in application completion. No hand written applications will be accepted. DUE DATE IS February 14, 2014!
We would highly encourage young women, ages 16-19, to apply. In filling out the application we recommend that the applicant familiarize themselves with Zonta International (www.zonta.org).
