Zonta gala to honor woman of achievement
Linda Carlson will be feted for her work at Canon City event

CANON CITY — The Zonta Club of the Royal Gorge Region has scheduled its Yellow Rose Gala starting at 6 p.m. March 5 at the Holy Cross Abbey Event Center, 2951 E. U.S. 50.

The event will be highlighted by the 2010 Woman of Achievement award which will be presented to Linda Carlson. Zonta International is an organization of professionals working to advance the status of women through service and advocacy, plus the group hosts scholarship programs for young women.

A cash bar, dinner and entertainment will be included in the gala. Music will be presented by the Canon City High School Encore vocal group and the Big Cat Band.

Cost is $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10 people. Reservations are required by Monday.
