Welcome from President Wendy Henry-Moraskie!
Thank you for attending Zonta’s Day of Film 2013, featuring “Girl Rising”
One girl with courage is a revolution.
Girl Rising is a new feature film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world.
From Academy Award-nominated director Richard E. Robbins, the film journeys around the globe to spotlight nine unforgettable girls born into unforgiving circumstances as they fight to realize their dreams. Each Girl Rising story is written by a renowned writer from the girl’s native country, and is narrated by a celebrated actress, including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, and Cate Blanchett. The film features original music from Academy Award-winner Rachel Portman, in collaboration with Hans Zimmer. Thank you for joining us on March 9, 2013, for Zonta Club of Denver’s Fifth Annual Day of Film for the the international theatrical debut of this inspiring film. And thank you to all our sponsors for their support.
