Scholarships
The Zonta Club of Laramie provides financial support to two local scholarships.
The Woman of Promise Scholarship is available to a Laramie woman who may
be continuing an education program in Laramie or returning to school
following an extended interruption or may be working toward improvement
in employability. She must have been a Laramie resident for one year or
more. The nature of the school or program is open and may include any
accredited/approved university graduate program, undergraduate degree
program, or other
recognized continuing education program in Wyoming. The student must be
a full-time student by the standards of the school and must be making
satisfactory progress toward completion. This scholarship is funded by
the club through its annual fundraising projects, and is awarded in the
Spring for the following academic year.
The Zonta Club of Laramie/Lucille Tihen Scholarship is an endowed
scholarship for a Laramie County Community College - Albany County Campus
female student to assist with her education. The student will maintain a
2.5 GPA and shall be an Albany County resident and a full-time student
(12 or more credit hours). This scholarship is awarded in the Spring.
In addition, the Zonta Club of Laramie supports the following Zonta
International Scholarship Programs:
- Amelia Earhart Fellowship
- Jane M. Klausman
- Young Woman in Public Affairs
