In April 2009, club members participated in the Take Back the Night event, which was sponsored by the University of Wyoming. This event entailed a candlelight vigil and demonstration of support for women. 
Court Watch Program. Several Zontians participated in this new community program in May and June. Zontians were invited to attend courtroom hearings for domestic violence and rape cases. Participants felt that their silent support really made a difference in the outcome of the cases. This program was initiated by SAFE. ZISVAW: Zonta International Strategies to Eradicate Violence Against Women and Children For 50 years Zonta International, in partnership with the United Nations, has focused on recognizing women's rights. Zonta International held a summit to determine the causes, costs and consequences of, and possible solutions to, issues surrounding violence against women. |
