On August 20, 2015, we completed our 1000th birthing kit. The stories and pictures are on our Facebook page and featured in USA Today.

 

Financial wellness workshops

Free classes offered for women Entering and Re-entering the Work Force.  Third Wednesday of each month 3 p.m. Student center at Front Range Community College.

Zonta Says NO

The Zonta Club of Fort Collins, Colorado, USA used a recent city council meeting to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women and girls. At this meeting, the mayor of Fort Collins read a proclamation opening the 16 Days of Activism. Club president Bridget Masters later presented information on Zonta, and specific statistics about victims of misdemeanor and domestic violence in their area. This opportunity helped bring additional awareness to the problems facing women and girls in Fort Collins.

Prospective Members in Greeley, Colorado, USA Raise Awareness of Violence against Women Locally

fort-collins-greeley-16-daysThe prospective Zonta Club of Greeley, Colorado, USA is raising awareness of violence against women in their local community during this years 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence campaign. The Mayor of Greeley read a special proclamation, declaring 25 November through 10 December as the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence. Zonta member, Kathy Swafford, then read a response to the proclamation, which provided more information about Zonta and specific statistics about victims of violence in the local community. The women also distributed “Abuse Happens Right Here” posters, citing local statistics in both English and Spanish, to area businesses and government offices. Accompanying each poster was a piece of literature outlining the worldwide 16 Days campaign and defining violence against women. The prospective Zonta Club of Greely also included a letter, providing contact information and the Zonta International mission statement to encourage individuals who have an interest in helping to advance the status of women worldwide to learn more about the new club.
